Bad Parenting?

It's 8pm & James has a sweet tooth. With the toddler in bed, the teenager in her room & the soon to be 8 year old in the basement playing computer games, we sneak out to McD's for a McFlurry & ice cream cone. For the record, I inquired if we should tell the girls we were leaving the house. His reply, NO; then they'll want something.

Well, the teenager calls James on his cell as we're paying @ the drive-thru window. He giggles @ me while talking to Natalie as I'm shushing the girl @ the window telling us our McFlurry will be right up.

Is that wrong?...

No Way! As soon as they have cash and a way to get to Mickey D's they can go get their own treats. I'm sure they are not starving at home. It's like a fun runaway date for you and hubby :)

the memory of a bad dream just came flooding back to me......the DREAM I have where I leave my girl in her crib for hours and don't discover I left her until I am at the bar then I fall off the bar stool and wake up.

How fun that you got to sneak out of the house!!

Did you eat the McFlurries BEFORE you got home? If so, all good!
And more power to ya!

Oh, and how the hell do you get your toddler in bed by 8 p.m.? WTF! Dean is up until 10. AND I HATE IT.

Love it!!! We've just started leaving my 10 year old home babysitting my 7 year old. As long as they don't kill each other, and the house is still standing... we're all good.
